The Mission and Values of Celsius Network

The Celsius team has worked hard to define our mission statement and articulate our core values to help us grow and develop as a team and as a company.

We’re often asked at Celsius, “What makes you different from those other guys?” Whether those “other guys” are traditional banks or our crypto competitors, the answer is always the same. Those other guys are driven by profits, margins, bonuses, and their own bottom line. And while all of these things are perfectly reasonable motivating factors to achieve success in business, we at Celsius are driven by a deeper, broader mission in which success is measured by our external impact rather than our internal bottom line.

So, over the past several months, the Celsius team has worked hard to define our mission statement and articulate our core values to help us grow and develop as a team and as a company. Although it was a long process with lots of edits, rewrites, and overthinking, our end result is a mission statement that we’re all incredibly proud to stand behind.

Without further ado, the mission of Celsius Network is:

Our goal is to allow anyone and everyone to access fair, rewarding, and transparent financial services through the Celsius app and literally hold their own economic freedom in their hands. This is the mission that drives us day in and day out, and our passion and commitment to achieving this mission is exactly what sets us apart from all those other guys.

Throughout the process of crafting our mission statement, we felt it was important to also create our own dynamic set of values that not only define what we do, but also define who we are as employees, as individuals, as Celsius users, and as community members. Here are the values that keep us on track, help us make decisions, and guide our day-to-day processes to ensure that we’re bringing Celsius to its fullest potential.

Act in the best interest of our community

Celsius Network was created first and foremost for the community — for anyone and everyone from all walks of life seeking honest and fair financial services. Acting in the best interest of the community means giving 80% of our revenue back to our community of HODLers, providing secure loans at fair rates with personalized terms, engaging with our community to harness their skills and ideas to further our own innovation, and perhaps most importantly, it means always putting our community first.

Dare to Explore, Innovate, and Create

In order to do what is best for the community, we must dare to explore uncharted territory and create for the good, not just for the profitable. We need to challenge ourselves to solve problems in new and creative ways, seek to understand the world around us from all possible perspectives, ask questions, and go headfirst into the belly of the beast.

Be humble and open-minded

At Celsius, we just don’t have time for egos, attitudes, or closed-minded thinking. By working collaboratively in an open, honest, and constructive manner, we can harness the power of the collective to truly change our worlds, and hopefully THE world.

Stand boldly behind our actions with radical honesty

Everyone these days touts transparency, but what is transparency without accountability? It’s on us to make decisions that act in the best interest of our community, communicate those decisions with unprecedented transparency, and proudly and honestly serve our community through the good, the bad, and everything in between.

Listen and respond to every voice with respect and dignity

Whether it’s a coworker, a community member, or a competitor, there’s value in every voice that comes your way. It’s our responsibility to not just hear those voices, but to listen and gain insight into new ideas, different perspectives, and friendly feedback.

Being a bad-ass is about uncompromising authenticity, seeing problems and then tackling them with effective solutions. It is pushing the status quo and demolishing stereotypes and expectations. At Celsius, we celebrate the inner badass in all of us.

If Celsius did things the way that everyone else does them, we wouldn’t have much to show. We need to find gems where others see only dirt and foster an environment where people are not afraid to innovate from their perspective.
